Last week I had the chance to check out Henley and fairly new restaurant in Nashville and I have to say I was blown away. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the artwork as well as the aesthetic of the whole place. My eyes instantly met with the eyes placed as the backdrop of the bar. I was hooked on the bar area because of the beautiful color of the barstools to the marble top of the bar. My first initial thought was that this had a bit of a Gatsby vibe and I wasn’t mad about it.
We started the night with some complimentary bubbly and after the busy work day, I was super grateful. I have to be honest it was pretty tough to choose what to eat/drink. So many of the options sounded delicious and thankfully Henley is set up as a tapas style which allows you to try multiple items. 🙌🏽
I am a sucker for 2 things in life and that’s charcuterie boards & Brussels sprouts. I couldn’t decide which two to start with so we went with both. I could have eaten the charcuterie board by myself & was tempted to order another round of Brussels since they were cooked to perfection. I’m not claiming to be an expert food blogger. However, I can tell you these were some of the best Brussel sprouts I have ever had. They were cooked enough to where they were crispy but not giving off a burnt taste...loved it.
Probably my favorite part of this experience was trying out the different cocktails. Plus I think we had the best waiter because he knew any and everything about the menu. He started off by asking us what style of drinks we typically would drink & then he’d offer up 2-3 suggestions with very detailed descriptions, which helped me a ton. At one point in the night, he came over and I told him to surprise me on the next cocktail. He didn't disappoint.
The cocktails I tried were & would 100% recommended:
-Old Bell; Belle Meade bourbon, Amontillado Sherry licor 43, absinthe, Orange bitters
-Attention To Detail; Ford’s gin, Douglas fir, Galliano, falernum, lime, mint, cedar, salt
-Mellow Yellow; Tequila Cabeza, Yellow bell pepper, agave, lemon, salt, saffron IPA
After chowing down on their signature Henley burger I knew I needed dessert. I have such a sweet tooth and I always make sure to leave room for a sweet treat. With multiple things to choose from I decided to pick their chocolate souffle. The photo may of come out a bit dark below but the soufflé was DELICIOUS. There were chunks of chocolate chips that were cooked just right, which for me means a little googey on the inside. Plus it came with ice cream on top which is my FAV!!
If you ever find yourself in Nashville I highly encourage you to check this place out. It’s also right next door to a Kimpton hotel which is gorgoues so just stay there & eat at Henley every night! 😂
*Thank you Henley for having me
as always remember to stay true to you & have a great life!
