#VCPoloClassic 2018 - Veuve Clicquot

This year I was presented with the opportunity to attend the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic & I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I’ve been wanting to go to this for the longest time now & plus I am a HUGE fan of the brand. So what more could I ask for than a day filled with champagne!!

If you have never been to #VCPoloClassic or even a polo match before I encourage you to do so. I wanted to share a bit of my experience with y’all & provide any tips + tricks for the event.

On Saturday I woke up like a kid on Christmas. I was so eager & ready to get to the event but I was also a bit nervous. The reason for this was because I didn’t want to be disappointed by the event because I’ve dreamed up in my head what it would be like. I got up & ready which I wore a linen suit from @express which in my opinion came together so well!

One thing I would recommend is going to the ferry early. I went right around 10:15-10:30 am & it wasn’t super crowded & even allowed for us to enter the event without a huge crowd at the champagne bars or merch tents. Once I got on the ferry I was surprised by the fact that I took us by the statue of liberty. I had never seen her before & I was freaking out! After about a 15 min ferry ride I will warn you that you have about a 15-20 min walk to Liberty State Park. For me, it wasn’t too bad but the heat did add to the struggle with walking in a suit.

Once you enter the event there are a few things you can do which are drink champagne, check out art pieces, buy merch, get food, play games, & get your spot/picnic set up for the match. Below I have added a few photos of the setup! It was AWESOME!!

One thing that I enjoyed the most was during the middle of the polo match they will bring you out onto the field and you can stomp the divots. If I'm honest this was just a great excuse to get a good shot with the NYC skyline behind me. However, it was awesome being around so many people and everyone just enjoying their time! AHHH. This year the winning team was the Veuve Clicquot team which I mean rightfully so. They played a great game & they have two-star players Nacho Figueras & Delfi, which she is stunning! It was so fun watching them celebrate the win since I weaseled my way to the front. I can't deny it was pretty funny watching Nacho struggle to pop the winning champagne bottle but hey we all can't win at everything! hahah. kidding. Seriously, he's awesome!

Things I would recommend doing:
-pack some food in a picnic basket
-Bring water but don’t open it on the ferry. They will check if it is sealed twice. Once when you get on & once when you’re off. They didn’t tell us this so I lost a water haha.
-Talk to people. One of my favorite things was meeting all the people. Everyone was so friendly & there to have a good time.

-Pay attention to the match. Many people were talking and taking pics but it's so much fun to be in the moment.

You may hear different options on whether or not the experience is worth it or not with a GA ticket. However, I will tell you I had GA ticket & I had the BEST TIME. I even plan on going to their next one in either LA, Miami, & for sure the NYC polo classic next year. Fingers crossed for Rose Garden one day. I guy can dream right? haha. This is an event you have to experience once in your life! If you have any questions about it let me know & I would be happy to help!

Can't wait till next time! See you soon Veuve Clicquot.
