Better Moments

The Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year from the lights, the trees, the music, the candy & most importantly the love. I feel there is no coincidence that Christmas falls at the end of the year. It’s a perfect way to conclude a year and just be surrounded by family, joy & all-around better moments.

This year I received a wonderful gift from my friends at Mars Wrigley Confectionery, which launched me into the Christmas spirit. It’s so easy to be focused on all the glitz & the glam of the holiday season but ultimately, it’s a time of year to be together & to give. Inside the box was a ton of their candy from Snickers, M&M’s, Skittles, & more. The box also came with some baggies with a note that read “Share these treats with someone who makes you smile.” My first thought was that I needed to share this with my coworkers, however, being that I work remotely and hardly see them I needed another alternative. What better way to spread Christmas cheer than to share with those who live near. OK…I made that up but I am pretty sure my neighbors would rather receive a little goodie bag of candy than hear me sing loud for all to hear. As I was prepping these bags I was thinking to myself how it can become so easy to walk by doors or houses that you live by and see daily yet not know the people who live there. Many people are comfortable with that, I mean heck I have been perfectly fine in my apartment this far without meeting my neighbors. However, I think there is something so beautiful about reaching out to those who surround you and sharing something a little as a smile or a wave hello.

Once I got all the goodie bags ready, my hope for each neighbor that I would be handing this out to was that their lives would be filled with joy, peace, hope, & all-around #BetterMoments. Although I may not know everything about them or will walk away will best friends from this experience I can say without certainty that kindness goes a long way and I will be forever changed.

I wish everyone an amazing holiday season and encourage you to get out there and share your heart, smile, a hug, candy, a gift, or even your time to someone you love or someone you may be right next door!
